Remembrance Day Parade - Nov. 11, 2004

Long time member, Mr. Doug Pilgrim (2nd soldier from right) participates in Remembrance Day Parade.

For the past four years, Veteran Gunner Doug Pilgrim has presented a wreath on behalf of the Newfoundland Regiment of both World Wars. The parade and ceremony takes place each year in Port Kells (Surrey), BC. Doug is a verteran gunner of the #166 Newfoundland Field Regiment Royal Artillery.



Special Presentation to Ed Norman Scholarship - May 3, 2005 At our May 3, 2005 General meeting, after a lovely dinner of cod fish cakes and baked beans, Vice President Pierce Pynn presented a generous cheque in the amount of $927.00 to the Ed Norman Memorial Scholarship Committee. Pierce raised these funds by having a Jigs Dinner and Dance in Richmond on April 16, 2005. Many thanks all who attended and generously donated.

Frankie G's Fundraiser - June 26, 2004

A good time was had by all at the fundraiser at Frankie G's Pub in New Westminster, BC. We had a great turnout with newcomers from Blaine, WA, Coquitlam, BC and elsewhere. Dawn Hill of Blaine, WA, won the 50/50 draw and donated her winnings ($57.00) to the Scholarship Fund. Congratulations and thank you very much, Dawn! We also raised $300.00 for the Society. Thank you so much to everyone who participated. We all had fun playing Musical Bingo which involves naming tunes from various decades. The food was delicious and several people won door prizes. We hope more of you will come and join in future events. See the photos below:
